Default First time for Lake Chicot

Will be crappie fishing Lake Chicot for the first time this weekend. Anyone with helpful info would be appreciated, i.e., where are boat ramps, where do most people put in, any part of lake better than others. Thanks to those that respond.

Are you staying at one of the campgrounds? Most of the campgrounds have boat ramps. There are also public boat ramps at the state park, Connerly Bayou and at several locations on the south end of the lake like Ditch Bayou. Personally, I put in most of the time at Connerly Bayou and fish either the bayou or the cypress trees out in the main lake. Good luck.

No on the campgrounds. I'm from NE Arkansas but will be staying in Indianola, MS with a friend for the weekend. I'm pulling my boat down with the intent to fish Lake Chicot. Just wasn't familiar with this lake but had always heard good things about it....had no idea how to fish it or where. Thanks for info.

The wind is gonna be blowing on the lake even if the wind isn't blowing.

You got that right, especially on the south end.

I have also gotten reports that they are catching lots of slabs on Grand Lake at Eudora (15 miles away).
