    Default Coburn Brake

Was wondering if anyone has ever fished or knew someone who has fished on Coburn Brake? It's located off Hwy 13 a few miles south of Humnoke. Thanks Jon

Never have fished it, The coburns in that area are all relitives of mine and they Farm allot of that land around there. I have frog gigged it a few times, and you really have to be fast getting the frogs or the cotton mouthes will have them all eaten before you get a chance to gig the frogs off the brake.

yeah it looks good down there. Big cypress and lots of brush around the edge. I bet it has many snakes about. I couldn't tell how deep it was. I was hoping to find someone who had fished down there to get the skinny. I did a drive by and their was one truck at the ramp but didn't see them out on the water.

It used to be off limits to the publics use at one time, I aint sure if it is anymore, cause its been several years since I was on it.

It has been opened to the public the last few years. Great fishing but the average size is very small.

My relatives on mother's side ''Carpenters'' live north of there around Culler. I thought most everything in that part of the country was off limits to the public these days. Money and greed has ruined alot of hunting and fishing oppertunties all over. At one time ,never thought I'd see purple paint in west Arkansas either.

From my understanding they are charging a fee to access the water. I was not aware of any public access to it. I only saw one dirt/grass ramp. Might be more that I did not spot.

How about Jordan Brake? Just north of town. It has been a long time ago I fished it. Then I think it was just a dirt ramp at someones house and you put $2 or $3 in a lock box per person to fish.

Early in the year sometimes you would do real good. After it gets hot, never had any luck.

Would like to know if it still fish-able? Before I make the drive. Any one know?

It was second hand, but I heard a report of a couple guys catching almost a limit a piece from Jordan last weekend? I've never been on it.
