    Default white river oxbows

I know each lake depending on its size and depth will be different but has anyone in the last week been on any of the white river oxbows and picked up some water temps? With a warm rain tomorrow it should be getting close to getting really right!!!!

I was on some of them Sunday and with the low water the temp was bumping 54-55 degress. Big females are full of eggs and males are on the nest. Large females are pre staged near the first drop offs (which are extremely small) and in the mouths of the creek channel in the lakes.

I haven't fished any of the bottom lakes, but I've been catching plenty out of the bayous. Not often at all that the water is low enough to fish the ones I've been fishing in February. A couple times I've had to get out of the boat and walk the banks to get em. Hard work, but fun. Sure wish it wasn't that low though.

Thanks guys- If we get some 70 degree rain this afternoon and even with tomorrow being cooler if that sun beats down watch out this weekend! Now on a serious note I wonder if a horse will pull my boat? I am looking out the window at $3.29 a gallon gas! That makes me sick to my gut how much i drive in the spring fishing and turkey hunting!

When you look out Memorial Day that 3.29 will look like a bargain.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
