Default Water's warming up in South Arkansas

Water temps are starting to rise in the oxbows and back waters off the AR river. Still early and will probably have a few setbacks with the weather. I had a report of many crappie being caught at Taylor old river (which is private) but haven't confirmed. If that's the case, Douglas shouldn't be far behind.

Welcome and thanks for the report. I look for the water temps to rise early if we don't get some of these gin clear lakes back up to full here in central Arkansas.

I fished Taylor old river a lot as a kid. I'd love to fish it again.

Temp on the AR river at PB was 43 degrees. The backwater I fished today got to 54 before I left. I caught two 14" plus and 3 more in the 10" range. Some friends fished water off the river near Dumas and didn't do too good. I'm going to hit them again tomorrow!! Fish Safe.

Rieve I think Douglas is too low to launch a boat on a trailer. I heard fishing is good but you have slide a small boat in to fish.

    A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.
