    Default Gold Creek

Tough day yesterday. Not a single Crappie. Some White Bass and I do not know how may fowl hooked shad. The shad were 12+ inches. One Pelican.

I feel your pain... I didn't catch but one crappie Saturday, and i had snagged him. Hopefully the ice will completly melt and the water will warm up a little... Maybe this would get'em going again.

My son and I had about the same luck yesterday at Morgan's Point. Only caught three small Crappie and about a dozen large White Bass while trolling with jigs. My son did snag a 16.5 lb Paddlefish in the tail that took him 30 minutes to get to the boat. He really put up a fight on that 16 ft Capps and Coleman trolling rod with 6 lb line. We grilled the fillets last night over charcoal and hickory and it was fantastic. Hopefully warmer weather will put the Crappie in a feeding mood.

A 16 lb on a crappie pole would be a fight, but hooked in the tail

I have never tried pelican. I grilled a seagull one time. And tried to eat one of those blue cranes. Neither one tasted like chicken. And the crane was like trying to eat a turkey leg.
