I already posted this on the mechanics board but thought I would ask ya'll. I went out to my building this afternoon and saw that I forgot to take my transom saver off and let the water run out of my motor before this weather hit. I dropped my motor and oil started leaking out at the prop. Took the prop off and could see a oily slushy mix, hard to tell if it is just oil freezing or if it has water in it. I could see at least two bolts but there may be three, could I take those off and see if I just have gaskets out or is that recommended? I have owners manuals to trucks that I don't own any more but I have lost my manual to this motor. It is a 05 25 hp 2 stroke mercury. I was just in the water Monday on Conway and I have bounced it around on a few stumps.

Didn't catch anything Monday afternoon and left the boat hooked up going to go Tuesday which I did but went with another guy in his boat and didn't catch anything then either.Stuck the boat in storage in a hurry late tuesday night and forgot to let the motor down . Anybody recommend a good mechanic? Or can I fix it myself?
