Don't think I'll go today it being the last day of duck season and in the high 60's.Think everybody and his twin brother will be on the water either shooting or fishing.
I went to black river friday came home with 10 Ky's and 10 paper mouths,unloaded at 10 and back on the trailer at 2.Didn't want to stop fishing but stupid me took the cell phone and answered it:rolleyes:.
The river is pretty,clear,a little low and thats uncommon for black river,its usually stained or muddy and up.
Caught all of them off bottom,orange ponyhead,orange,char.,pepper flate slab slayer B.T. and yellow crappie nib.Seen a few other fisherman and they said they wasn't doing to good.The bite was hard to notice,if it hadn't been for the braid I wouldn't have felt nothing.Only the Ky bite was felt with a very lite tick and the crappie was on with no notice of a bite.After hooked they all had a good fight in them,I turned lose 8 kys in the 2lb. range.All came off sandy points going into deeper water,the bait had to lay on bottom for 10 to 20 seconds with a small hop at the end.

Lake Erling I caught 4 crappie all day----Not to good for others that I saw..

turtle, pm me if you have to. where do you put in on the black? i've just started fishing it and know little to nothing about it yet. i've fished up around the datto access and shafer's eddy. thinking about hitting it down in the rainey break area.

Wheeeww cleaned the boat,tuned the motor,packed wheel bearing,straighted tackle today,sunday going to black river again.
The boats ramps I use,pocahontas ramp on west side of river,you can put in black river fish it or run up river to current river.
Black rock west side of river,fish black river or run up river to spring river fish it or run up spring to 11 point.
Powhatan has a ramp west side of river.
Rainly brake has a ramp,west side of river
clover bend,shirely bay area has a new ramp,east side of river.
Delaplaine ramp on east side.
brookings ramp on east side.
Peach orchard ramp on east side.
The one I use around Knobel is a dirt ramp,dead end road and muddy.
There is more but these are the ones I use.

They are some duck hunters thats been camped out in some of my crappie holes.
Thats ok don't mine shareing,its not their fault low water everywhere,some how no choice.

Out of the 4 boats I own this is my favorite and if you see it on the river it has"job site"printed on the sides.
The live well in the middle is now a dry storage for all my tackle,the floor has 2in.foam,the lower deck is inclosed foam and top deck dry storage.Drop things on the floor and they are hardly any sound to spook fish.Unbelivieable at the amount of plactic and jigs in the live well,front storage 2 rain suits,2 lifevests, one roll T'paper,plus a few things and a trout d'net.
I like the trout d'net b/c 99% of the time 5 1/2 utralite rods is all I use and its easy to store.I use 10/2 braid 100% of time and not scared of losing a fish with line breakage,if I cann't dip the fish up with the trout dipnet I lip them :D.

Fished walkers creek on Lake Erling Thurs and Fri no joy partner caught one cat no crappie between the two of us water still dingy from the rains rise appears to be at standstill lots of shad on the large size did not fish main lake or deep water.

Yeah fishing buddy hasn't learned how to unsnap a boat seat,..been thinking bout chewing tobacco and use it as scent.
Just got back from the river,2 of us 35 paper mouths and 15 Ky's,they still on bottom and you haveta drag it a wittle bit.
