    Default Burnt Cane Info

Any reports on Burnt Cane (9 mile)? Water level? Condition of ramp? I had heard that the ramp was being rebuilt.....Any info appreciated.

low is a good time to fish it. and you can see some stuff to catch them around in spring and summer

Went out there Monday. Didn't get a bite. Nice new ramp has been put in. Water looked good until the first sandbar, then it gets real muddy, then toward the other end it looks good again. Fish just weren't interested in what I had to offer. Certainly not like it was a few years ago this time of year!

I was told that Burnt Cane was a good place to fish on windy days, but I have never been there before and was wondering how you get to the boat ramp.

Take the Widner Exit off I-40. Its just East of Forrest City. Go south on 38. If you stay on that road it will take you to it. when you get up on the levee a few miles look on the left. Good luck. And yes you can get out of the wind.

Thanks Billy E I might give it a try on the next windy day. Is it more of a jigging pole lake or spider rigging place?
