Nice fish you got there, Having fished on millwood for bass for the last few year, I have seen some of the Size crappie in millwood, those ya got there is medium large crappie, Are there still any of those really big magnum sized slabs in the lake. I know that the corp of engineers has been jacking with the lake the last three or four years, in a attempt to get vegatation under control. Has this had any adverse effects on the lake and the quality of fish in the fishery?

Yea there are still some good ol slabs there. I have been able to catch some of them, this was just a average day of fishing. Slabgetter83 landed a 9lb bass the same day. So it was a fun day of fishing. Where you from

    Default Just Wondering

I am from up in central Illinois. Have been down to Millwood three times. The first time, I caught some of the largest fish of my life. The second time was a little more mediocre. The last time down, fishing was tough. Even you local folks were saying it was tough. Was just wondering - - - is right at the end of March/beginning of April still a good time to visit? I want to come back again some time. Both for the fishing and the nice folks I have met on the lake! I have fished out of Bullfrog in the past. Fished up as far as McGuire to a couple miles below Jacks Isle. Is there anywhere else I should be looking?

    Glad to hear anything
    Dave

That is usally the best times besides winter in the river chanels. I am not sure what this sping is going to do. The lake is pulled down and then the corp is supposed to raise it up for a little while to help with vegtation. You are fishing some of the favorite areas of the lake. I will try to keep you posted on the fishing.
