Default Good fishing and hog day.

I thought I would never get back out on the water. I haven't fished for three long days but before the hog game I slipped out to Dardanelle and caught 22 off one cane condo that I put out last summer. I kept what the wife and I could eat in a few days and released the rest. This is my second cane condo experience and I am sold on them. I put out three 5 gal buckets (concrete)to a spot. The first condo was in a good place but I can't find them anymore, they are gone. Next time I am going to tie on an 80 lb sandbag and see if they can drag them off. This one was in 18 fow and the fish were 14 to 16 feet down. They are beginning to bunch up now. I caught all of them on a blueberry/pearl slabbandit. Not too bad for an old man. Bad picture though.

    It ain't nuttin but luck.

Hey there slabbandit, same name as my bait. I know lots of folks at Plainview. I bet you know them all. I have probably seen you on Nimrod.

You can't tell by the picture but most of the black crappie in the pic were what we call "linebackers". The kind that has the black strip down the back and nose. There is a hatchery just up the river at the mouth of Piney creek that raises them and they are getting plentiful. But you are right, they are really fat and healthy. GO LSU GO!!! Never thought I would be saying that.
