Thread: Cutting cane

I plan on building some crappie condos in the next few days, I was wondering how long do I have after I cut the cane do I need to get it in the water.

During cool weather, you can wait a few weeks without any problems. The cane doesn't try out nearly as fast right now. During the summer you've got about a week, before they start to get dry and brittle.
