We have several up here in Yell and Pope county. You can see several on a little lake called Kingfisher and Pullen pond. They are the reason I quit tube fishing. I even got nervous about using my bass scamp so I sold them all. The only time I ever felt threatened was when I was dragging a stringer of blue gills behind me. It was an easy meal for them. Dogs that come to the water to get a drink get a surprise too I have heard.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

Yea Midnight - I your ever lucky enough to draw a ARK gator permit, Millwood is the place to go. I look at the gator permit like the elk permit maybe one day. Either trip will cost some money.

Yep RT, me and my brother fished Kingfisher over towards Petit Jean awhile back met a guy at the ramp and asked him how the fishing was in the lake. He said it was pretty good till they put in all those Gators. I can remember thinking there ain't no gators this far north and wrote the guy off as a lil crazy LOL. Welp after we launched and got out by that little island, My brother looked at me and Pointed HEY!!! Look At that Log Moving On the water.:D We both then looked agian and Yelled GATOR!!! LOL

Alligators have always been in Arkansas--The early settlers kind of cleaned them out until Game and Fish took control of placing them in Arkansas waterways. The turtle is their favorite food I understand and they get a lot of the trash fish also. At times they manage to get a deer swimming the river.
Lake Millwood is full of gators---Mud lake and McQuire Lake I know have many many of them. I watch them if they are nesting I stay away. Also Snake Creek in Lake Millwood has a few--I saw two large ones in there--probably close to 3/4 length of my alumium boat maybe 10-12 feet.
