Well started out yesterday evening around 2 PM conditions were cloudy, windy and drizzle, but only a few folks on Caney Creek. Passed an Ole Timer who said he caught a few on the Red Wht n Chart Tri colored Pictured. I rigged it up and caught several decent fish with a couple of nice fish. Things were going so good at first I gave six good keepers to a nice fellow on the bank and I kept eight in my cooler. Then things got Slooooow wind, rain, a constant drizzle, pelting my Gortex Jacket and hood, water droplets on my glasses and darkness was 30 mins away. I made a change from the tri-Color and put on the brightest Midsouth Tube I could find. Still no action and it was Dark. I thought to myself that's it and pulled up to the boat ramp. As I pulled up another boat was loading up and taking off. So I said what the heck lets flip this bright pearltruse jig around the creek bridge and pads. I pulled up to a pod of pads and WHAMO, I about got the rod thumped right out of my hand it surprized me so bad. Landed a nice black, stuck the jig right back in there and another Hard Thump and up came a nice White. LOL Well with all this excitement I decided to fish the pillars of the Caney Creek bridge. As I ran the jig along to the bridge Pillars the jig just stopped cold (Thought i was Snagged) and I started to feel the throb of big Black Crappie and my best fish of the day. Eleven foot rods, under a 5 foot bridge dont mix to well with slabs but i got em out of there. Dipped back in and BAM!!! another Nice Black Strikes. Four Slabs in 15 mins makes my Heart Throb. It's a HOME RUN in the bottom of the Ninth.:D
