Default best tm for lake conway

Hey am in the market for a new TM. I really like minn kota TM. But I want to ask you guys about what brand and model TM you have. I like fishing lake conway, atkins, overcup, brewer, barnett and the cadron creek. so it will get to meet alot of stumps and logs. How do you pick your Shaft Length? should I look into the 24v models? Is a Terrova tough enough for these lakes(I like the idea of not have a cable in my way) or should I be looking into a Maxxum? The boat am looking to put it on is a 2000 lowe 16ft stick steer. thanks for your time and help

I just this year bought the Terrova 55/48 12v with the ipilot. I've had it on conway couple times and on brewer couple time and greers. Deploys real nice. work with Footcontrol or remote and it steers way better than any TM i've had. I wasnt sure about the remote control but I really like it now.

I've had it right up "in the trees" on conway and have banged it pretty good...I also drove it right up on the big flat across from Dano's and it sliced through the pads no problem.

    its on a Crestliner CX17' w/ 75hp merc...the 55 lb thrust has all zip i need. I haven't had any probs at all....speed control great...it'll crawl

IPilot is cool...I like the spot lock...but haven't been out in wind on open water yet...

    It's a tough motor...I like mine midnight!

Oh yeah one other thing...the depth adjustment for the shaft is easier than my old MGuide. I like running mine a bit shallower in a stump pit like conway...

Mid Night I like Minn Kota Edge and have One of them on both my boats. I also like the model CW is talking about if you want to spend the extra money. Both are good tough TM's. I think a 42 or 45 inch shaft would be good for a 16 foot Lowe and allow for about 15 inches in the water for your motor head at the water line of what ever boat your putting it on. Remember you can go up to 55lbs of thrust without having to mess with that third battery. That should be plenty of power to get the job done. I have 55lbs of thrust on my 17.5 Lowe and it works well for me. Hope this helps

thanks guys. those boys in mississippi really talk up the Terrova. All the extra features it has make it sound really nice and handy. But like cp said thats alot of extra money to spend.
