Default 1st time at Lake Conway

First thing thanks for the advice on were to fish and safety. I couldn't ask for a nicer day. If I could have only had the fish to bite. Most everyone I talked to was not catching anything. Stopped at Henry Gray (Hurricane) on the way back to Jonesboro and still no luck.I will be back to Conway but only when I get the word. Only pic is sunrise and best friend. Cant wait to post some of those Lake Conway Crappie! I will not get discouraged

Looks like Gold Creek to me! Persevere, man, persevere! Lake Conway will only get better from here to Spring.

You were almost there!!! The creek channel starts just past the point to your left. Ask Dano to show it to you on a map. Fish the tree clusters dotted along the way. You will probably find CrappiePro around the next point. Next month start trying different areas on the other side of the freeway and on into the pool.

I went to the mouth of the creek were the (highway) starts. Dano was very helpfull with info that why he got a tip$ at the ramp. It seemed to be a perfect morning, and was. I think I was holding my mouth wrong or the crappie were holding their mouth shut. Clocked 300 miles Sat but I will be back. Thanks Again Guys!

That is why I love fishing there in the Fall. You can be 20' from a boat that is just loading them in; and, you can't catch nothing. Or, it might be the other way around. You will see and learn many techniques.
Last time I ran across CrappiePro out there, he handed me my hat.

Aint that the truth. Have been on both sides of that. Unfortunately, the wrong side more often than the other.

Hey I know that spot LOL. Yes Conway is still a Main Lake Bite, I am still catching 10-20 keepers with some real nice fish mixed in around live cypress trees. As long as the water and weather stays warm it will be a main lake bite. But it's getting real close to the time when a free for all will break out in the creek and pond, but it's just tooo early right now guys. When you step out on your porch in the morning's and say MAN I NEED A LIGHT JACKET 3-4 mornings in a row, you better be thinking about heading up either Gold or Caney creeks, the bite will be on. A few days ago I fished the I-40 bridge and caught some good ones eight feet deep on a tube jig, tried up the creek and the pond and could only catch allot of small bass. They are thinking about it, should be about two weeks from now.
