Default I met a celebrity yesterday...

I was bank fishing over at Caney Creek yesterday afternoon when a celebrity floats by with another guy in the boat with him.
I asked if they were doing any good.
They said that they had done well in the morning but the bite had slowed down in the afternoon.
I said "Maybe you need a butterfly to land on you".
He didn't even look up. Maybe he didn't hear me.
Then I said "I have seen you on Crappie.com."
    Then he perked up. Ha!
    We had a friendly conversation.
He even offered a few tips.

Russ, it was good to meet you and your brother yesterday.

Hey Tom nice to meet you to, LOL when You said butterfly I thought to myself now there is Guy who knows how to read wildlife signs, he must be a good crappie fisherman. You better get your boat in the water on Caney ive been putting a dent in the population there. We ended up with 22 yesterday and 26 today with several good fish missed. Maybe we can give em a try real soon my friend.

Do we still need a chicken too or is the fall bite settled with the butterfly? Been thinkin about getting a chicken mounted with a butterfly on his head to set in the boat, do you think that would work?

You might be on to something there...weight it down with horseshoes, throw him in, mark the spot and come back later and catch big slabs off of him.

Bryan It might work but ill bet you getting to Caney creek at daylight and fishing the Stumps, out croppings of Pads and around large Cypress along the creeks edges & towards the lake, and the two bends up creek from the bridge will work for ya. I think you know how i trim up my tubes and i use a nibble. Give it a try.

I dont have a crappie pole long enough to reach water from my treestand. It's bow season!! Was thinking about sneakin off this afternoon to run up and hit Gold Creek for a bit but that is lookin out of the question at this point. Tomorrow pm might be better with the forecast for some cloud cover.
