    Default Wrr tips?

Going to the refuge Monday for the first time. Wanted to bass fish early and try to get a limit, then chase red ear and crappie. Any tips on methods I should use, trolling, jigging cypress knees, casting road runners or beetle spins, crickets or jigs, etc. Thanks in advance for any help.

for crappie i would spider rig minnows and jigs out in the middle. just troll around until u find some. for bream just pitch crickets up against cypress trees and brush tops move until you find the bigger ones. good luck and let us know how you do.

Dont wait too long! the time to go is now, I was there(h-lake) tues morn, kept 21 8-12in most came in open water spider rigging with whte hair jig tipped with minnow. If you can find tree top in 8+ ft of water the fish (crappie) are there. Be prepared to cull as many as u keep! we were fishing 4-6 ft deep

The bream we caught were nice large, filleting bream. But I was using a 1/8th jig with a blue and white skirt on a small beetle spin. You don't catch many small ones on this rig. We caught 63 on Friday afternoon and 73 on Saturday, we were fishing in Little Round pond on the west side of the river, can only get there by boat or four wheeler. have to carry a boat in.

My brother and I caught our limits of bass and brim fishing escronges and h lake. The bass were hitting bandit 100s and h20 crankbaits. the brim tore the crankbaits up also. Caught a few crappie spider rigging in the middle of the lakes, but it was too hot to fish out ofthe shade for very long. We had a bunch of fun and I will be going back.

Hey Slabs, me and the better half hit 100 Monday, not counting goggleye and bass, only seven crappie tho, still chunking blue and white on Little Round Pond. Hope to meet up with you on the mud bank one day.

I went Saturday and kept 23 filletable bream. Got tired of catching the little ones on crickets and switchedto crappie jigs and started catching larger bream and a few smaller crappie. Don't ask about water depth because I don't know how deep it was, but I had about 6-8 feet of line out. It was probably the most fun in several years fishing I have had.
