Slabntaters, i have not been catching bass out of the trees i have been catching crappie in. I have tried a worm in those trees with no luck. I have been catching several nice bass outside the opening of Dix creek. If you were faceing the opening to Dix Creek from the main lake the bank to the right of the opening you will notice several boat docks with cypress trees close to the bank. Try pre fishing this area and concentrate your efforts on the boat dock heads and cypress trees closest to the bank. ***(I really feel this time of year the bass pull up to this bank this time of year cos of the shade the high east hill provides good shade until about 1100 am.)*** I have been catching most my fish on a Red shad culprit TX rigged 1/8th oz bullet wt. Also have had luck on a berkly tequilla prower worm and dark colored craw baits. Give this area a try and hope you catch some for the tourney. Good luck

You Truly Are A Crappie Pro. Those Really Are Thick On The Back. I Know Of Some Cypress Like You Mentioned On Millwood, But Work Gets In The Way Of Fishing. Glad To See Someone Has The Time.

Nope im fishing along the north bank bulkhead right between the two major arms of Lake Conway

what is the best ramp to fish that area?

Rookie 40 Gold Creek Ramp at Dano's Hwy 365/Gold creek bridge, is a good ramp to get to this spot. Live Cypress trees running west to east along the face of the north bulk head bank r the trees u need to concentrate your efforts on the shady side in the morning. When u come out into the main lake under the I-40 bridge you will see a big point sticking out to the right. This is called Gold Point. When u get your boat even with gold point look to the north accross from it and you will see another main lake point. This is the most westerly point of the bulk head. You want to fish the tress running down the face of the bulk head from west to east along it. You will notice isolated pods of trees and some loan live cypress trees. These r the trees you want to fish hard but dont skip the other lone isolated trees cos i do pick up a nice fish now n then on these to. Remember the clusters of trees r best on the shade and fish near the bottom in 5-6 feet of water. Try WHt n Chart, Blk/chart, and solid or cream filled chart trimmed double stinger Midsouth tubes on wht or chart 1/32 oz heads. Fish I have been fishing from 6am-about 12PM and from 5PM to Dark 30. Good luck man i hope you jig some up.
