    Default Fire-Cracker Crappie/Lake Conway

Hey Guys the last two days i have been dropping the hammer on some chunky Black Crappie on Lake Conway. Fish r not monsters but all running from 10-14 inches. and out of the 40 fish i have bought home the last two days every one has been a black crappie and thick backed. they been eaten good i guess. I find it strange tho i have not caught even one nice white crappie. I have been fishing main lake isolated clusters of two, three, or more live cypress trees on the shadyside always. Verticle jiggin a wht/cht metel flake Midsouth tube, 1/32 oz Chart head with red eyes and silver crappie nibbles. Most of my catches have been coming off four clusters of live cypress and they have been loaded with keepers. I am fishing the shade right off the bottom in 5-6 feet of water. It's hot out there, but have lucked out with some cloud cover in the mornings. Been catching fish from 6-10AM and 5-8:30PM. Hope you had a good 4th...

Nice catch Crappie Pro. We made a loop through the drive in your territory Saturday hoping to get a fishing tip. We didn't go Crappie hunting while we were there, but did whack the gills pretty good.

Crappiepro, those are some nice crappie you have there, you say you were catching them off of live cypress, have you been catching any bass on those cypress while you were crappie fishing. I have a bass tournament coming up and I am wondering if the bass are on those trees as well.

Looks like you have them figured out. Stick with 'em as long as the pattern holds. Thx for posting the pics.
