Thanks agaain for the replies guys it is often times hard to go fish places you have never been before now I feel like we can go and catch some fish.

There's some outstanding smallmouth fishing a few miles away on the South Fork of the Spring. It's amazing how few people know about it. If you're interested I can give you a few pointers.

I fish the fork,strawberry,eleven point and the spring for the brown buckets,I'd like to hear some good pointers also.Going to strawberry saturaday but I'm REALLY hoping its to muddy to fish.
Cann't blame the farmers but I seen dead fish laying everywhere on Lick Pond ditch this morning.I've never seen this ditch pumped this low before,Cash river is also being pumped low.I guess any oxbow,ditch or lake thats being pumped out of now are low.

Since you live in NE Arkansas you already know at least some of what I'm about to say, but I'll give it a shot. I was up there weekend before last with some friends. They're younger than I am and find the Many Islands scene appealing. I don't particularly, but I like them enough that I camped there any way. When they left for their float I ambled over to South Fork Resort right at the 289 bridge. The place is run by extremely nice folks. They were kind enough to let my buddy leave his truck at their place and told us how to get to the access they normally shuttle their clients to. There were three of us and I think they charged us all of $6. We floated a raft back down to the resort and only caught a few smallies, but we were mainly just goofing off. I've been up there before in May and June and had really good luck. What worked for me was tossing a Texas rigged fluke into shaded pockets along either bank. I think some of the biggest fish in the river are within a half mile of the campground and are reachable by foot, but if you do float you'll hardly see anyone else. There's a three mile and a twelve mile float that can be facilitated by the folks at the resort. I understand there are some really big Spots in that river as well. I don't know why it doesn't get more use. I guess it's just overshadowed by the Spring, which suits me just fine. If I want Girls Gone Wild I can tell the wife I'm going fishing again, although I don't think that's the same kind of Girls Gone Wild.;)

Do not rent a boat from Lake Thunderbird Marina. They nickle and dime you to death. A 24 hour rental on 24' foot pontoon boat started out at $296.00 for 24 hours. With tax and six gallons of full our total was $400.00 when we turned the boat back in, in better condition that what we got. Had a good time fishing and caught some nice bass and very large bluegill.
