Im from Louisianaand im going camping this week end at petit jean state park. i was wanting to fish but im not sure if i need any kind of permit or not. Im not sixteen yet so i dont need a liscence here and i didnt know if it was the same.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

You're in luck! This weekend is Arkansas' Free Fishing Weekend. Everybody, including nonresidents, can fish without a license. Go to Arkansas wildlife – Arkansas outdoors – Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for more info.

That little lake on top of Petit jean used to have some good fish in it. Have fun up there. I live about 8 or 10 miles west of your camp. Let me know if you need any info.

Under 16, in the greatest state in the union, I think you will not need a permit, residents under 16 don't.

ooh i hope so that was what i was hoping for in the first place. Its like that here too.

clint, if you are going to trout fish i'm not sure if you'll need a trout stamp regardless of age. if you are you might want to check on that.
