Default BeaverFork lake has ecoli scare in water

Watched news and saw they closed Beaverfork Lake in Conway to swimming due to health Dept samples eight times the legal limit with the ecoli Virus. They didnt say anything about the fishing tho, just talked about stopping swimming. Are they still allowing fishing?, Is the Fish still safe to eat? Anybody heard anything about the fishing on Beaverfork lake. Too bad it's a nice lake.

There's a whole bunch of lakes in Arkansas that need to thin out the goose populations. Beaches are closed from time to time up here too from goose crap in the water.

I hope it is determined by fall if the lake is safe or the fish are safe for consumption. I plan on pulling cranks at that time.

after alot of rain, the coliform counts always go up. One reason being that E. coli occurs naturally in the soils and waters, and also in the digestive tracts of most warm blooded animals. After a few days/weeks the counts will go back down, and swimming will resume.

I read in the log cabin where it was still open for fishing and boating. they said that in the middle of the lake it might not be as bad cause there is more water. it said they got there samples at the bank. they also said it was due to all the heavy rainfall and that in a few weeks everything should go back to normal.
