Default Lake Brewer Kicking Out Some Toads

Hey guys Lake Brewer is still kicking out some really nice fat fish. Put in three half days in a row out there, with with my wife, and with Dad and Uncle. Our numbers were 8, 14, and 10 but about half of those were 13-16 inch fish. The lake is up about two feet right now and the bite was slow but the quality is great. Fished 12 foot deep with large shinners over brush in 15-20 foot of water. The fish I am holding came up from about 14 feet deep in a split second when I set the hook and then proceeded too tail walk accross the surface for about ten yards like a tarpon or something. Me and my wife thought it was a white bass until we got it besides the boat I forgot my net and she hand landed it for me. On our next spot she then caught two nice slabs in a row and i had to return the favor, LOL good thing i got em for her cos I would'nt have heard the end of it. :D On My next trips with my Dad and uncle they both landed some really nice crappies. A great weekend fishing with the people I love most. Can't wait to get back on the water this weekend. God Bless

Good job! I'm glad to hear Brewer is still producing some good sizes.

Yes Wayne im breaking it in good, last sunday Lake Brewer was white capping right across the boat ramp as I motored up to the boat ramp to try n drop my uncle off to get the truck. The strong cross winds blew the tail end of the boat around and my motor Skeg was bouncing on the concrete even after i tilted it up. With the wind so strong and the boat so shallow and close to those God forsaken Rock banks of Brewer i had no choice but to jump in and hold the boat, until i could load it on the trailer. Scratched the Skeg up a lil, but nothing a lil High Gloss black paint and a Skeg guard (which is on my to do list) can't take care of. It's first War wounds at sea

I don't know if you ever been too lake Brewer but they have two really nice boat ramps there, only problem is they have absolutely NOWHERE near either ramp to safely beach your boat except on boulders. Seems like who ever designed those ramps could have thought to themselfs OK we just built Two really nice Ramps for people to launch their boats, now where can we clear some of these boulders out so folks can safely beach their boats for loading and unloading. But instead they probly said, "Naw lets just leave the boulders for Good Old Crappie Pro to deal with" Probly had a big Grin on thier face too.

There is a nice little dirt spot to park the boat at the south ramp. Nothing but rock at the north ramp though. Places like that and the amount of time I spend on the rivers is why I dont own a glass boat.

    Good catchin!!

Nice blacks and whites....way to get em.....sorry about the skeg....I don't think they will ever make a good boat beaching area....heck they won't even fill the craters in the parking lot!...Like soswine said, when the wind is like that I use that little cut to the bank on the S. side of the ramp.....good pics of your family.
