    Default south Ark.

Just got back from S. Arkansas. caught 45 in 2 days of fishing. they were not on the banks yet. fished in 3 to 7 FOW. Fished with minners and Roadrunners. Caught most with a black and chartruse R.R. Females still had eggs. Water temp 65 to 69 degrees. Caught several in the 2# range.
    Good fishing to all........

good going...i catch the biggest part of mine on road runners this time of year...i like the rr pro with the willow leaf blade and curly tail body...imo the rrs seem to catch a little bit bigger fish and you can fish faster which helps with the spring winds blowing 15-20 mph...glad you had a productive trip

    Default Road runners

What size road runners do you guys have the most success with. How do you fish them, fast or slow? I would like to try this technique while they are shallow on my lake. Also, what type of jig body do you use?

i use the 1/16 oz yellow chartruse head with a blk/char or red/chart body right now and the same head with a blk/fire tail as the water warms...fish them fast at .7 -1.2 mph and that creates a reaction strike...you can use just about any kind of soft plastic for a body but i prefer sp hot grubs and ms tubes

When the fish are non-agressive I use an 1/8 oz. and fish it very slow near the bottom. If they are on the banks shallow I go with a 1/16 oz.
