Default horseshoe lake = thumbs down

went today and fished hard from 8 to 3 and had one crappie and one catfish to show for it. talked to quite a few locals and they all had less than 3 each. beautiful day and water temps were 61 but fish just werent shallow where they shouldve been.wanted to fish the docks but it was pretty much impossible with the winf. it was whitecapping out there. the one i did catch was in about 2 feet of water (male). tried all diff colors/minners but nothing seemed to work. soory no pics but wasnt anything worth taking pictures of....

    Default where u fish

    River Slabs,
Where all shallow did you try. The fish may be staging out in the flats. We are going fishing tomorrow at the shoe, maybe they will start biting.
    Thanks,

i launched at the other one (not karefree) and fished the whole shoreline for about a mile up near the docks to the north of the ramp without a bite(tried all depths) so went out to the point of the lake and tried up in the trees(nothing caught) then went and fished some offshore structure near the point of the south side of the lake(not a bite) so got out of the wind (water was white capping)and went to the southwest side out the lake and caught one and a catfish within 6 inches of each other in a laydown. fished way back in the trees, all through staging areas. fished so great looking flats that have some sticks and brush in them but no bites.
