White bass run at Maumells was awesome in the 70s when I was there. Also schooling hybrids and white bass in Greers were great fun. I imagine the hygrids are arm breakers by now?

Ok folks, my fishing season officially starts this coming Saturday (Feb. 27, 2010). I'm getting out there early this year so I don't have the excuse of, "I waited too long again!" (cuz of the cold weather)
Well, as everyone knows I hit the White Bass run at Maumelle first. Then commute to DANO's place to see if the bite is good. Then, over to Pierce Creek.
I'll let everyone know my outcome and hope to see everyone on the water!

Don't outsmart your common sense!
Jack
Don't know about them hybrids breaking arms:D, but pound for pound I think they are some of the hardest fighting fish in the lake! It is fun to get into them, every once n a while. I went one night with some guys that tied up to the narrows bridge and dropped lights n the water in that deep stuff and then we dropped minnows down and caught several. It was a good time for sure.
nothing beats time on the water
Shimmy I have caught some bream over at pierce, but have not crappie fished it ever, might have to try it.

Havent been to pierce in a while. It is a nice little spot, if you get there early enough.Back in November and December i took around 250 crappie off that dock. Cant figure out why they winter there. Theres no deep water around that dock, least not over 5 or 6 feet.
