Default Keith Sutton crappie seminar in LR on April 8

    Hi all,

I am new to the board and want to introduce myself. I am the education coordinator at the Game & Fish Commission nature center in Little Rock. I also love to catch--and eat--crappie whenever I get a chance.

Many of you know who Keith Sutton is. He was the AGFC magazine editor for a long time and has been a freelance writer for many fishing magazines, including Crappie World, and has written several fishing books. Keith is also a very good speaker. I invited him to give a talk on crappie fishing at the nature center and he will be here on April 8 from 6:30-8 pm. It is free but due to space limits we ask you to call the office at 501-907-0636 to register so we don't exceed the fire code for the room. Keith will also have some of his books for sale that night. You won't want to miss it so please give us a call.

The nature center is in the River Market District of LR. Free parking is available on streets after 6 pm and a walkway next to Museum of Discover leads from the street to the center. The building sits between the amphitheater where they do concerts and fireworks shows and the I-30 bridge. We are on the bank of the river, across it from Verizon Arena. I hope many of you can attend. By the way, the visitor center contains a huge antique fishing lure display among many other things you might like to see. Admission is free and the center is open Tues-Sat, 8:30-4:30 and Sunday, 1-5.

    Y'all come see us!

Thanks for each of the welcomes to the board thus far. Sutton is well worth a visit to hear. I worked in the AGFC Fisheries Division for several years when he was in the Communications Division. Whenever I needed any info on catching or cooking fish, instead of asking anyone in Fisheries I went to him. He is that good!

Thanks Cast and Blast. Why don't you bring your grandson to hear Sutton that night so he'll really get crappie fever and will always want you to take him crappie fishing? I'm glad to hear that you are helping introduce a kid to fishing b/c that is vital in so many ways! Whenever you visit, ask for me so we can talk some crappie fishing. I love to swap stories with fellow anglers and I'm sure you have some good ones. I hope to see y'all on April 8 because I know you'll love it. Sutton literally has the ability just by talking about fishing to make you wish you were doing it, both in his programs and his books. His passion is very contagious when you hear him or read him.
