creekslick another guy living in your area has spoiled me to living rubber jigs,I've always used plastic. He had made me 450 jig heads and did a great job on them,I sent him a few molds for making bass baits that I no longer use.I wanted to give them to him to show my thanks in a job will done.In return he sent me several hand tied living rubber jigs of different sizes and colors.I think Jim/James as you may know him did that on purpose knowing he was going to catch a fisherman. The season I say spoiled I used one jig for 4 days catching a limit of crappie and bass each day,its still not torn up.If I had been useing plastic on those days more then likely I'd used 100 or more.I've seen the light you cann't beat home made tied jigs that others take pride in tieing and their workmanship.
I use alot of Slater jigs. And Creekslick it is fun to catch fish on jigs that I tied. Tried a few at Ramsey Slough and they worked going to try them other places this spring.
since we tye meatgetter jigs with kiptail i use them 99% of the time, the other1% is with
bobby garland plastic or minners if i am trolling.
I was raised using a hair jigs. SLATER JIGS , with my favorite color being chatr/red/chatr. I am telling you nothing beats a slater jig. With one phone call to clemie at slater's, you can get any color combo that you can imagine. They will be at your door in 3 days!!!
WVS you should give meatgetter jigs a shot!!!
