I heard that they were gonna stock some more Floridas in the lake, but that is just what I heard the newsletter didn't say anything about it?

In my quarterly new letter that i get from the AG@f biologist, they said Lake Conway was getting stocked this year with A lot of crappie yearlings ( 200,000 to 300,000 of them).I wish They would Put a couple hundred thousand Florida strain Large mouth bass in the lake. I have caught some of those 6 to 7 pound bass on my 12ft bucks jig pole and that is the most pull i have ever had on my pole. Well besides the occasional drum from up in the pool at gold creek.:D

nothing beats time on the water
Back when they were stocking them regularly with large number of floridas, the bass were alot bigger, the biologists tell me the true super large bass come from the cross breading of the floridas and standard north american black bass. just what they said, I aint sure.

I wish they would stock a bunch of crappie in Greers Ferry, but maybe we had a great spawn the last 2 springs as high as the water was.
So i take it the crappie aint biting on greers either

Greers is a mature lake, and most years there aren't as many of them as we would like.
What type crappie are they stocking, black, white or black noise?
They are stocking black, and white crappie, according to the news letter. I cant taste the difference in them, to me when it comes to filleted crappie they are the same.

Is anybody having any luck on conway lake this week, let me know I am planning on going fishing this weekend, can use you help.
Maybe if we are lucky, by the weekend the ice will have melted and you can go fishing, when I crossed Gold Creek this morning there was still ice on the water. I am havin a itchin for a twitchin on my crappie pole also. But the deep freeze took its toll last week. the ice got fairly thick, and has yet to melt away. I bet a boat will break thru the ice now.
