    Default Lake Hamilton report 12/4

It was very cold today, but the crappie were biting well. Early this morning the moisture on the line was freezing to the eyes on the poles. We didn't tear them up on any one spot, but it was steady all day.

We did loose one though in a special way. A largemouth bass that was at least 8 to 10 pounds with a mouth the size of a football took a small 10-inch crappie without trouble. I had the crappie about 6-inches from the surface of the water and the bass clamped down on the tail half of the crappie, pulled it off the hook and headed for the deep water. We all just looked at each other in amazement. I sure would have liked to fight that monster with a 10-foot crappie pole.

Here's the 50 we got today:

Git em buddy. Wish I was there with ya.

Finally caught 3 walleyes sat night for a grand total of 7 for the season so far. SAD!! Anyway they were a few nice fat pigs. I was gonna go out last night, but when the temp hit 21 I wimped out.

Here's a pic of a couple of em. The longer one was 26 inches, around 7 lbs. I'll brave the cold tonight and see if I can get some more.

Good things come to those who bait.

Wow Grizz, those are some really, really nice eyes.

I am now in Lubbock, TX visiting the old homestead. I haven't been back here in over 18 years. Anyway, it is in the 40's in Arkansas, fishable weather, and it is in the low 20's here and the forecast is calling for 50-60 mph winds today. My brothers said West Texas is repelling my return and I should go back to Arkansas, lol.

Darryl you may need to put a few rocks in your pocket so the wind don't send you back to Arkansas.

Well if I could string together a few days of limits I'd have you up here so you could take home 50 lbs of fillets and some sweet hog pics, but considering how sparse they are this year we better wait unless we have a Dec slammathon or a Jan thaw that makes em hungry.

BTW Darryl may be of diminutive stature, but I don't think any wind will take him off his feet.

When are you finally going to move down here? It is a balmy 35 degrees in Little Rock this morning.
