Anybody catching anything to speak of in SEARK?? The Ouchita river is still slightly out of it's banks so i haven't tried there. I tried Cane Creek about a week ago and all I caught was a slight cold!! Any suggestions!!

Went to Lake Monticello Saturday and had 14 by noon trolling jigs. The yellow bass were terrible. Lake Darbonne and Lake Washington are both doing well right now. Grand lake should be good for trolling if you can catch the wind right. I also hear they are being caught on GP lake.

Thinking about going to gp this morning when I get off work. I want to go to darbone my next days off. Where is lake washington?? I have heard alot of people talking about on the boards but I don't know where it is. Just to pass along the info, there were several boats at Morgan's Point last week. I was over there bow hunting and then saw all the boats on the water. I wish I would have had a pole instead of a bow. Thanks for the info.

15 miles south of Greenville, Ms. One of the best crappie lakes in this area. I just got back from there couple days ago. Did very well.

I was fishing in 45-50 FOW Saturday and keeping the jigs 3-4 cranks off the bottom which is 5-6 ft. They were real finicky about what they would bite but I was catching them on a purple/pink jig with niblet. I also caught a 5 lb largemouth and two striped bass that went over 2 lbs. They wouldn't touch a lot of the standard colors I had used in the past and from some of the guys I talked to seemed like they weren't hitting minnows too well either. I went back early Sun morning and pushed crankbaits for over two hours over the flats and into the deeper water at different depths and never got a hit (not even a pesky yellow bass). Went to the spider rig poles with the pink jig and caught a 7 lb largemouth, 3 lb largemouth, two nice crappie and lots and lots of yellow bass before the wind finally ran me off the lake around noon. I couldn't see the bites with all the waves and figured it was a lost cause. They were biting Very Light last weekend which is typical for Lake Monticello this time of year and calmer water helps to see that very subtle movement at the rod tip. Trolling speed should be pretty slow right now for them to take it (around zero to .4 mph). They are lazy right now and you have to put in in front of their face for a while before they will bite it.
BTW deerducksdogs, I forgot to mention that Jones' Lake should be good now also.....it's just down the road from you. Lots of large black crappie in that lake. I've had it in the back of my mind for the past couple of weeks that I need to fish it.

Jones lake is usually a good place this time of year. I just don't know about the water level. It should definately be off the road going in but I don't know if the ramp is still under water. I guess I need to ride down there and look and if I do I'll let you know.

Lake GP was not so good to me this morning. Two bream and a lot of 1-2lb striped bass. I tried to go to Jones Lake but the water has not dropped enough like I thought it had. Guess it's gonna be Monticello or Darbone this weekend!! Hopefully both!:D
