I went Friday afternoon with my Uncle for a couple hrs to Conway. We put in at palarm and were both in separate boats. It was stumpy, confusing, and clear. The lake appeared to be a little low. We wound up following the palarm creek channel to were it almost dumped into the lake. The creek ranged in depth from 5-8 ft but right out of the creek you were about 1.5 ft and could see clear as day. We didn't catch a fish and Unc said he wouldn't be back. I have bass fished up there a little but not crappie.
Im thinking the fish might be n the creek so with a push pole I could get out shallow and cast into the creek? Im talking about the north end of the lake and I know that people catch crappie n the winter were palarm runs under 286 a couple miles before hitting lake conway. Maybe I should just join ya'll at gold creek but I don't know, didn't see any other boats, it was just us and the ducks.
Went Saturday to Greers because my parents were up there. Tried finding some brush but not sure my depth finder is set right. I'm going to get a friends camera and try to learn more about it. Caught one hybrid. Had a great time both days but I still have along way to go before I'm catching crappie by myself![]()

The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
I don't know a lot about that part of the lake. I have followed the boat lane from the sout side of the lake (long ride) to the creek channel. If we are talking about the same one, it follows the bank and intersects another creek about a mile from the landing. I have found redears in there during the early spring before it is consumed by the pads.
You may not have caught anything but, at least you are getting out there.

I was out at Gold Creek Saturday and the fishing was tough. I didn't catch a thing but everyone was crying in their beer about how slow the fishing was. Bites were light, and very infrequent. Definitely a slow day on Conway.
Don't get discouraged. The fish that were being taken were from heavy cover, and along the bank.
Quit complaining about the color, just pull up your skirt and fish! -- snagged
I'm not discouraged or down at all. I had a great time on the water, if I went just for the fish, I would go to Kroger. The fish will come with time.
