Gizzards - The Pond was one giant bait ball today.

The gizzards were so thick in the pond today that I was foul hookin'em with a jig. They were breakin the top of the water so dense it sounded like it was rainin. When I'd reel in, you could feel'em swimmin into your line. Never saw anything like that before...Couldn't buy a bite....tried'em with everything I had in the boat...

The pond was not like that last week, but the creek and the Interstate 40 bridge were. If they had stopped swimming for a few seconds, I could have walked to shore and back.

When I lived in Texas I used to cast for shrimp with a cast net. Made the mistake of tossing a 9' net into a mess of shad like that once. I had to stand there holding the line until someone that understood cast nets came along to pull the top of the net and release them. I must have had 300lbs of minners in that net. Young and dumb. I miss those days, but not often.

I'm sitting here debating whether to go or not. If the pond is full, I imagine its gonna be tough fishing.

I did find a little honey hole last week. PM me and I'll tell ya where it was, or if you go, ask Dan. I told him where it was.:D
