    Default Lake Degray Crappie 10-3-09

Dad and I went fishing this morning. We caught twelve crappie, two bass, and one big bream. We were fishing FFA & COE crappie condos in and around Alpine Ridge. 10-14 feet deep in 15-24 feet of water, using Rosey Reds. Water temp was a cool 72 degrees. They were biting good from 7:00 until about 9:00, then they quit on us. We missed 4 or 5, including a couple that made it to the side of the boat.

That's some purty fish. Congratulations on the catch. I know you've earned them with the condo projects.

Nice Fish, WTG I know what you mean i have had two real nice fish get off on me right at the boat on each of my last trips. Man that just errks me when that happens. After the pain goes away I just say WELP you can't catch em all, and get back to fishing.

BTW, the crappie seemed to be running a bit bigger in size today, compared to a couple of weeks ago. Also, while they were biting they weren't messing around. The crappie would hit the minnows and run with them.

Thanks for the report. Looks like all that hard work building and placing those condos is paying off!

Good catch. The condos pay off again. I know you and your dad had a ball.
