bass fishing while waiting on my jigs.

I've ordered some crappie jigs from skip at Crappie Jigs Home Page and until they get in, I decided to do some bass fishing over at old river lake in scott.

I fished yesterday from 2pm to 5 pm & had pretty good success. I had 9 bites & boated 7. Lost a big fish that was stripping line like crazy. I had several fish in the 2lb range, & it made a nice mess.

I used the nimrod method, white spinnerbait w/ gold willowleaf (war eagle, support the locals) & the fish were real shallow. Water temps were 75-76 degrees & it was a wonderful afternoon to be on the water. very few boats on the water.

Interesting thing is that these bass are really trying to get up & gorge before the winter. One of the fish had 3 crawdads & 1 shad. Hopefully the crappie will be there real soon, when I get my jigs in. Just thought I would share.

The last two days I have notice bass blowing up on the banks in shallow water.Sometimes you can even see the back of the fish as he getting off the shallow bank.Sometimes it sounds like some one throwing in a tractor tire the splash is so big.Crappie and bream sorta has lockjaw problems and when you do hook one he is just barely hooked in the lip.

I'm in need for 1 1/2in black and blue curly tail does skip make these too?

skip can make just about anything you want. you can check with him. I usually use custom hair jigs from kiptail, and I get some colors that I don't see on his site, but he makes great stuff.

Lazy? More like "tired" after all the work you done on that boat... Looks really really nice man.
