    Default Peckerwood Report - Sept 12, 2009

Launched at Peckerwood this morning around 6:00; CRAPHEAD was launching at the same time too - imagine that!

And yes, I ran into DAFSHKLR on his SWEET ride - it has "tourney" written all over it. Said, "hello" chatted for a few and went FISHING!!! Tried my usual spots and only 1 fish!

So, I gave into the lillypads and headed straight towards where MEATGETTER fishes (he wasn't there). But, another gentleman was there so I worked another clump of lilly's and it proved fruitfull! The fishing was hot between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00am. After that, it was like they all went into hibernation

DA, I know our encounter was brief but happy to meet you - be seeing on the water!

At final count - a whopping 15 and 1 bream! 15 must be the magic number now-a-days!

    Hey guys,
Im interested in going to peckerwood and have never been. I have looked at it on Google earth, but not much detail. Any hints to where channels are, or general direction of those pads? Any help is alway appreciated

    Default peckerwood pads

go to redbarn landing (turn on 86 off hwy.63 ) redbarn is approx. 5 mi down
86 put in go out in lake you will see pads they are everwere. watch your graph most of the pads are on a channel, the main channel will be hard to
follow if you dont know about where it is. but if you stay in the pads you
can catch some slabs they will bite sometime during the day.

Or just show up at Redbarn around 6am and talk to the other firsherman. They should be able to point the way.

Shimmy - Good talking to you as well. The wind got rough on me early as we went toward the dam to work the deeper channels, and NOTHING. Caught one nice fish in 8 FOW with a Black/Chart that weighed right at 2.02 lbs. Then moved to the banks in the Herman launch area. Found most of the fish on the 4 FOW dropoffs wanting anything bounced off the bottom. Caught several nice fish 12-14 " in this area on "Electric Chicken" stinger tails with a 1/16 oz black/Chart. head.

Hope to see you again soon on the water!!!
