    Default Moro Bay

Did anyone else fish Moro Bay this weekend ? I caught 19 keepers saturday morning and just 11 keepers this morning. I was trolling southern pro hot grubs about 1 mph. Trolling is new to me , trying to learn how to do it.......

I would say about 5 or 6 feet deep, do you spider rig or long line troll? I was casting out a jig and trolling it. I tried the spider rigging, just didn't catch as many that way. Got more learning to do on the spider rigging.

BB I was fishing saturday morning. That must have been you trolling the north/east side. I saw you catch several. I think you had it figured out. I caught 11 total. The 3 biggest came from the area around the long flat dock on the pipes sticking up on the southwest side. If that was you, I think I seen you again Monday fishing with a lady that was quick with the net, Hahaha! Tj is right, the fish must like it fast. Looking back, I think I was too slow. You were trolling pretty fast. I had shiners but the jigs did about as well. I bass fished some with no luck Monday. The water hit pool today. Maybe that will help with the muddy water toward the upper end.

when i'm trolling at .8 to 1.1 mph, my poles are positioned out both sides and i am usually longlining to reach the right depth...i usually use a 1/8 oz head and if they're deep, i'll sometimes add a 1/8 oz split shot

pd..i see alot of folks fishin around those drill stem pipes...if my memory serves me right(it's been 6-7 years)...there was a house boat docked there that was demolished by a tornado...the winter after the tornado, you could board the house boat and fish through a hole in the deck where a plank was missing and catch one after the other....kinda like ice fishing...lol...hundreds of fish were caught in that very spot you are talking about

Naw BB, I motored by ya'll Monday and spoke. Saturday I never got close enough to talk. I was too busy trying to catch a mess. Lol. The rain has raised the water a couple of feet in the last couple of days. The rivers not real muddy so the rise shouldn't have messed up the bay or Raymond. Good luck.

GG that old houseboat frame is tied up in a top about 2-3 miles down the river. It was tied at the river bridge but broke loose in the high water. I wish they had left it where it was too. And you're right, a many a fish came out from under it.

bb...i'm thinking a little rise and more current in the river will push more of 'em up in the bay and raymond and only make things better
