    Default 22 Today 9/09...Moro Bay

went down to moro bay today and ended up with 22 nice sized crappie and 1 bream...caught 13 of them in the bay trolling a motor oil/ chart tube jig with a 1/8 oz pink head and 9 of them in the lower end of raymond lake trolling a hot pink tube jig with a 1/8 oz chart head...the fish were 6'-8' deep and the trolling speed was .8-1 mph...saw several big schools of bait fish moving in from the river.

    22 crappie and 1 bream

the lower end of raymond lake

new cabins at moro bay if anyones interested in a weekend away

Hey Gasper, nice looking cabins. Are these privite owned or part of the park. Do you know any details as far as cost and who to contact for reservations. Thanks and by the way good looking mess of Crappie. BM.

couldn't make the link work so i just copied this info from the ark state park web site

    To contact the park: 870-463-8555

You'll find one of the most popular fishing and water sport areas in south central Arkansas where Moro Bay and Raymond Lake join the Ouachita River at Moro Bay State Park. Park facilities include 20 campsites (five Class A and 15 Class B), picnic sites, a store, marina with boat rentals and gas pump, standard pavilion (screened), playground, trails, and the Moro Bay Ferry exhibit featuring a historic tugboat and barge.

Five cabins are currently under construction in the park. These rental cabins are scheduled to open in mid-September 2009. Each cabin is fully-equipped and features a great room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms. These 1,100-square-foot cabins include an outside living area furnished with a picnic grill and table. One cabin is a barrier-free design to meet the needs of visitors with disabilities. They are located near the entrance to the park and all overlook the waters of Moro Bay.

The park is located 29 miles southwest of Warren on U.S. 63; or 23 miles northeast of El Dorado on U.S. 63.
