It does not matter what other think of how you catch them as long as it is legal. People complained so much about spider-rigging in Mississippi that they have a 3 pole limit on Gernada and a 5 pole limit on Sardis, Enid, and Arkabutla.

hey pd...it was...caught the bigger ones just out from the boat shed with the light on it..do they ever turn that light on anymore...we used to go down there in july and august and wear 'em out under that light...it's about to get right down there for sure...surface temp was 78 degrees when i started...be sure to bring your bass gear too...they're starting to school in the bay...caught 4-5...none over the 14" limit tho...fall is about the only time i bass fish anymore...i usually fish there and the laigles off the saline when they start chasing shad
i ended up with 17. my biggest were about like the smaller ones in your pic. the boat dock with tha party barge tied to the front has a light on at night.
Nice catch TJ, thanks for the report and pictures.
Good job on the mess of fish!
caught all but one of mine in the bay. mostly around the boat houses. think i may go try em again this evening...
They usually leave the light on but it has new owners and they're not crazy about people fishing around it. I've heard them yell at people before at night fishing around it. Legally anyone can fish around it but I just try not to upset them and just stay around mine or the SP marina. I know they fish inside the boat shed some during the fall and winter. If you'll notice mine is the only one that doesn't have posted signs on it. They're not bad people, just a little protective. We had a few sticky fingers come through about 6 months ago and everyone's a little edgy. I don't leave a light on during the summer because of the spider webs and I can't stand them in my face. If you're down there and the light is on at my place just pull on up and catch'em.
I bass fish during the summer and crappie fish the rest of the year. I mostly fish below the river bridge at Felsenthal. I do like the saline when the water stays stable. Which is usually the end of summer like you're talking about.
I'll be at the bay this weekend with crappie and bass stuff. Oh yea, and a few shiners. Hopefully the weather and fish will cooperate and I'll have a report.
I was there mon and tues myself, but did not do as well as gasper goul. 1st time there looks like great water for the fall.
Puttin' fish in the ice chest is what it's all about, buddy. Don't worry about the puritians...they probably don't catch half the fish of a good live-bait fisherman. :D
