Default Lake Thunderbird / Lake Sequoia (Cherokee Village)

Going up there over Labor Day weekend. I used to fish it when I was young, but have not in 20 years. The crappie were big.

Just wondering if anyone has been there and if there was any report.

I have ask several times about these lakes myself, and not many fish them, and if they are there quiet about it.
I will be moving there in CV by the end of the month. When I learn the lakes and catch some I will post it. Not much help for your holiday weekend...sorry.
I've rode around on Omaha last month and the hydrilla grass is high in the water colum all over the lake.
Thunderbird Lake has to many skiers and boat riders to fish on holiday's, and weekends.
You couldn't pay me to fish Thunderbird on that holiday, it'll be like fishing in a washing machine.
Good luck on your trip, and let us know how you did.

I will be fishing Sequoia (no wake lake). I can't wait to hear the reports you give. They are great clear water lakes.

Crappie Cowboy, I am heading up there on Thursday. Are you catching any, or do you have any reports?

By the way, I will be on Lake Sequoia. I grew up fishing that lake, and I used to know the creek channel that runs through there. There is also some pallet stacks that used to be in there as well as some old stumps over by the beach.

Kent.. Sorry I missed your call at home, I'm having problems with my sleep.
I know my wife told ya that we haven't gotton moved there yet, all this paper work on the buyer of our house keeps dragging on, but we are suppose to sign all the paper's Wed.
I still can't help you on a fishing report, I haven't been except, my brother and myself went to the hatchery in Mammoyh Springs a while back for about 45 mins. and I caught a nice rainbo trout using a small bit of shrimp, and let it float down stream.
I wish I could help, but you know how it is buying a house it takes forever. It's gonna be fun trying to figure them crappie out there, and the fall weather
    is gonna great.
When I get a handle, oops let me correct that statement...lol ''if'' I can get a handle on them, I'll sure give you a call, I have your cell number now.

    Later....Gary
