    Default Slow Saturday on Ferguson

Had a slow day for me on Ferguson Saturday. It was a good day for fishing but for some reason I just couldn't get into a good pattern of catching. One of my friends from Crossett had 28 at 11:30 and I only had five crappie in the boat. I remember thinking "I'm only averaging one fish an hour"! Anyway, I fished till 4:30 when I got ran off the lake by a LOUD rap music thumpin' WAKEBOARD boat. I was in the F&F aluminum boat and those monstrous wakes were causing my lines to tangle from the bouncing up and down. Having 16-18 ft poles even makes it a lot worse. I only had 16 Crappie and 2 bream when I left. I know they have rights too but to my way of thinking having one of those Wakeboard boats comming by someone trolling is a lot like sitting on your deerstand opening day and having some Yahoo on a loud fourwheeler some by at 8:00 am! I thought someone's rights ended when they started encroaching on someone elses rights! That's exactly the reason it is nearly impossible to troll or fish the open water on Lake Monticello most afternoons now. Oh well, Cold weather will be here none too soon and send them inside! I can't wait.
