This was the weekend of the dreaded "honey-do's". Put the boat in the water at 6:00am Saturday, was a chilly and windy morning. After 4 hours working the lillypads throwing back 4"-6" blacks I called it quits due to the wind. At the same time, I'm watching this woman on 12' aluminum boat pulling them large blacks into the boat left and right! What I heard was the opening of her cooler and "ker-plunk!" - another fish in! I left around 11:30am, went home and bush-hogged, run the chain-saw on felled trees, started repairs on the roof, etc.
Sunday (8-24-09), after the entire morning of continue "honey-do's" I said, "Heck with this, I'm going fishing!" Went to Peckerwood, caught many bream and a few Crappie, here are the pictures:
Same fish:
1lb-8oz and 1lb-10oz:

Nice fish Shimmy. I was there at daybreak Sunday and caught 15 nice keepers by 9:00. Probably lost at least 10 more at the boat. Fished the edges of the pads with a black/chartruese jig. They absolutely quit biting by 9:30. Only managed one more fish after that, leaving at 12:30.
Nice fish, is the water getting lower?

Where is Peckerwood? I would love to come up and fish it one Saturday. I live in north west Louisiana, close to Springhill.

LRJoe1: Nope, I was in the middle of the lake jiggin the poles past the island to the left as you come out of Red Barn.
Stubby: I used a Southern Pro Hot Grub body black/chart w/chart tail on them lillypads and I catch everything; Bass, Bream, Drum, Gar!!!! But, what you are seeing in the picture is a 1/16oz Chart RoadRunner. 15 is a good mess - which means I'll have to work them first before going to my usual spots.
NIMROD: Water is still up - I can still run my 40 horses wide open!
Pastor: Peckerwood is between Hazen and Stuttgart Arkansas along Highway. Just GOOGLE "Tollville, Arkansas". It's the large body of water immediately south.
No boat load of crappies but these fish were too perty not to post!
Hey SS...Don'tcha HATE it when somebody else's ice chest is getting a workout and not yours?Good pics BTW
Thanks, Shimmy, for the information on Peckerwood.
