    Default Lake Conway gettiing ACTIVE

After several 5-10 keeper and dink trips i have noticed the last two trips size and numbers are starting to stage along with shad on the main lake side of I-40 at Gold creek. Limited out two days in a row, with countless 9-14 inch fish jigging around the isolated or (clumps of live cypress trees) =(better fishing) on the shady side of the trees. I am fishing tube jigs in 5-7 feet of water (with nibbbles). I have noticed they want it pitched into the shady side base of the tree or work the jig up under low hanging branches and either allow the jig to pendalum away from the base of the tree, or move the jig horizontally away from the base just off the bottom 6"-12" in the shade with your rod tip. I was fishing isolated main lake live cypress trees east of I-40 and Danos at Gold creek. (Just a Hint) if you like to fish Conway, you can put in a Dano's go out to the main lake and work these trees and gold point pond year in and year out in Aug and Sept and fill your freezer before the fish and crowds show up in Oct to fish Gold Creek. Keep moving and dont stay at any one tree or clump of trees too long, if you aint getting a bite. Good Luck... Oh ya stay out of the jungle to the left after you come under the I-40 bridge. The isolated trees up to where it gets thick is okay. But only fish the jungle as a last resort. CP

Thanks for the report. I have been building condos from scrap PVC and have a stake bed ready to place just sitting in my wife's driveway. I hope she don't find out all you have to do is fish the trees that God already put there.

Thanks for the post. I was afraid that the only place in Arkansas left to catch fish was Lake Lee. LOL

Ooops, and Lake Nimrod. (Sorry Nimrod, LOL)
