Good catch. Are you catching them out in the deeper water or around the bank and the lily pads? I fished Dagmar Saturday and only had 3 keepers.

Caught a total of 19 this past weekend, and all of them were 13" to 15", 1lb-3oz to 2lbsWell, a two pound crappie is huge to me! Several reports from other fisherman say they are catching their limits - Peckerwood is HOT for crappie right now!
Something to share that I find interesting about crappie fishing (my experience): Crappie will "tap" your jig 1 time and without no fight coming up to the surface. 2 or 3 taps mostly likely will be something else. Also, this weekend the larger crappies (14" - 15") took the jig on the fall so I didn't feel the "tap". So when I lifted my pole, I thought I was hung up - it was like trying to pull up a cinder block!
Worth mentioning, everyone I talk to where ever I go fishing is familiar with this site and refers to it for everything-crappie! I get, "Hey, you're that guy on crappie.com!"
Here is Sunday's catch. Saturday's is already in the freezer.

How deep were they and in what depth of water?

These whites were caught in 5'-6' FOW in the middle of the lake around underwater structure. I'm not comfortable fishing the lilypads yet. I get hung up alot, and I think my trolling motor spooks them trying to get in deep in the lillys with it churning up the water.
Out in the middle, I can at least locate underwater structure, mark it, and let the wind carry me over the structure without much noise.
Were you trolling?

Not trolling. Just locating underwater structure and fishing it for 10-15 minutes at a time. Go on to the next one, do the same, and come back later. It amazing how you can come back to catch more later.
I won't fish around the lily pads. Too much trouble and I have never done any good around them anyway. I was hoping the lake would get low this year because you can tear them up in the side channels, but with all the rain we have had it is not going to get low this year! Thanks for the report. I might try there Saturday if not working?
Those fish must have fattened up big time since I was there. Those 15'' fish were not even close to 2 lbs.![]()

Nice catch. I live in Cotton Valley, Louisiana and don't know much about Arkansas. Where is Peckerwood Lake?
