The club up here was Craighead County Bassmasters and I am not for sure if it is still operational.

Cacheriver6,
I did some emailing and found out there is a local BASS club that meets here in Jonesboro.
They are called craighead county bassmasters. I emailed the local chairman and here is what he replied:
Hey Tom
>
> Our next meeting is at Ryan's on thursday night Aug 6 at 7pm. This meeting is our awards night for the year.
> We meet on the 1st thursday of each month and fish on that saturday following. You are welcome to come to the meeting and sit in.
> All potential new members fish as a guest with a member at their 1st tournament then can join the next month. The dues are $95 includes club dues and both state and national BASS and FLW dues. Our club competes in both state championships for BASS and FLW.
> You can call me if you need more info at 926-2209.

we really don't like to resort to clubs up here. Seems cruel. We stick to polefishing.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

To answer your question; yes there are several bass clubs in the Jonesboro area. I am the current secetairy / treasuer of the Craighead Bass Association. I have been a member since 1984 but the club was founded in the early 70's. We fish eight tournaments per year, two members per boat. We do not fish for money, therefore club and tournament fees are very reasonable. We practice "catch and release". We currently have around 15 active members. You do not have to own a boat in order to become a member. We are as much a brotherhood as a bass club, and are always looking for good people. If this sounds like something that you might be interested in please send me an email.
Thanks, David
