    Default Greers Ferry Trolling

Anyone having any luck trolling for Crappie on Greers these days? Have been under the weather and not able to get out. Hope to soon and would appreciate an update.
If the good Lord is willing and the creeks dont rise I'll catch a slab today.

They can be caught but they are harder to catch this year. Don't seem to be schooled up this year. I caught a limit this past Saturday but had to fish most of the day to catch them.

Thanks for the info CS, are you still fishing the middle fork area? Have heard that the crappie are hanging around the 12 to 15 ft. area, so this must be about the thermocline depth. Are you still using the bandits? Thanks again.

Middle Fork, Hill Creek and Devil's Fork. I still use Bandit 300's and have started using some Cabelas Gravedigger Series. They are almost half the price of a Bandit.

I have fished Hill Creek and Middle Fork in the past with some success, but have never fished up Devils Fork. How does it compare to Hill and Middle? I have heard that it has some good catfishing water.

It is like the other 2 you have to get there early to beat the water lice because after 10:30 it turns into a washing machine.

Aint it the truth. It doesn't seem to matter where you are at, they will find you and it almost seems like they are intentionally trying to wash you out of the lake. If I had my way, they would only be allowed to come so far up any tributary and then be banned from there on. Especially the pwc's. Most of the young people on those things dont have any common sense and certainly no carring about any one else. Oh well what good does it do to get all steamed up about them, this is a recreation lake and money is what it is all about as far as the corps is concerned. I noticed also that they have just released 180,000 more fingerling hybrid bass this summer. I hope the big Crappie eat about 99.9% of them and get real fat.
