Got one more day of work then off for a week, headed to Lake Village for some serious crappie fishing. All the post on Lake Lee got me really missing the good fishing holes down there.

Yep, you guessed it --- Lake Lee!!Who'd-a-thunk-it??
Iffn' I had posted a pic, they might appear "bug-eyed" to those central and north Arkansas fishermen who have grown accustomed to the beady-eyed crappie up there! (Kinda narrow 'tween 'em too!) :D Those Mississippi river crappie gotta have big peepers to see through that muddy water! :D Anyways, slow trollin' jigs in 25 FOW 'bout 14 feet deep got me 15 fish over 14" long and the largest being 2 lbs - 2oz! How 'bout dat?? Had 3 smaller keepers too. And I didn't count the many throwbacks but they wuz considerable lots!! The bite was HOT really early and they quit 'bout 10 AM or so. That lake is giving up fish to almost anybody that wets a hook there! Did I say "almost"?? :D :D

Well there KG...luck to ya! My fishin' friends tell me that any of the river fed lakes (Ferguson, Whittington, Paradise, Cottonwood, Kate Adams, Lee, Leland, etc...) are good right now. River outta be @ 21' or lower @ Greenville next week so they should stay good for then. Chicot is good on catfish (if you like that :D). Grand and Washington are not doing much at all on anything right now. Dunno' 'bout Morgan Point or Arkansas river at Pendelton. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info, gettin my jig poles ready, heading down Wednesday. Probably fish Lake Lee the most and might try Kate.
Ill be fishing out of a tracker pro crappie rig. What are you fishin out of?
i believe you're plum smitten with that lake...if it ain't broke don't fix it...right...what is ur prediction on when grand will be right again...not familiar with it in the fall
Born to Fish...Forced to Work!!!

Yep...Plumb smitten is right on! When thet thar 'ole muddy river gets right it's hard to beat those lakes fed by it! Dunno 'bout Grand. I figure after it cools and the fish get active again. My reports from several friends who've tried it and Washington lately say really next to nothing is happening with anything. I've not tried it lately due to success elsewhere but the fish may be holed up in the deep water?? What I'm catching now are practically parasite free!! Grand is almost as bad as Chicot 'bout those worms. And it ain't extra protein! 'At's why I clean my fish ... to throw away some of that "extra protein" !!! (heads, guts, scales, worms, etc...)![]()
Congrats on the catch I am envious where are the pics.
