    Default Quachita camping report

I like to have got blowed away last Thursday afternoon. It came a typhoon that lasted about 4 hours. Ruined two tents and made me sleep wet that evening. The tow rope used to pull a UFO from the toon is about 20' shorter after it got into the prop; twice. Didn't catch any crappie; had to settle on barely legal bass to have a fishfry. They wouldn't leave me alone. So I ate them. Lost 4 Bandits and got ate up by the flies.
But, what a great time we had with four grand kids ages 3 up to 10. Lot's of BS'ing with kids that age. I heard all about the bears and pirates on the other side of the island. We arrived about noon on Wednesday and left Sunday morning. We stayed on #10. I left plenty of evidence behind the sign. So, watch your step.

Glad you had a "Good?" trip. Time with the young ones is always a good time, but too bad the weather sucked on Thursday.

DP glad you had a good time with the grand kids. You need a plug knocker to retrieve some of those hung bandits.

DP, Glad you survived, Ouachita is such a pretty lake. A short trotline or some limb lines baited with sun pearch will usually guarantee a good meal of catfish. You should of hooked up with Arkie John.
We just finished VBS, love those children, three saved and 2 gonna be baptized this Sunday.

My Sister went to the Buffalo River tent camping this weekend and someone there set up on a Honey Locust limb full of thorns, stuck through the tent and sleeping bag. not very comfortable.

Funny you should mention the thorns. When we set up camp, we found a "crown" of thorns. I don't know what they came from; had spikes about 3" long. When I picked it up, everyone just stared at it...speechless. The 10 year old got her bible stories confused and said "Jesus must have lost them there in the flood".
