    Default Felsenthal..Saline River

went to prarie island in the lower end of bradley co. today...wanted ro fish the laigles but it was full of gar so i fished a few tops in the river and a small oxbow near the ramp...kept 21...caught most of them in the small lake trolling southern pro hot grubs..the saline still has a little current so top fishing is not ideal just yet but the recent flood waters have uprooted several trees leaving plenty of new tops to be fished later...and yes..i did get caught in the storm...had to hug a tree for almost an hour...lol

do you fish jigs or minners in the tops. i have found that here around sheridan that jigs seem to be easier to fish in the saline and often produce more fish even though i am mainly a minner fisherman. how deep are you targeting the tree tops this time of year because i use have my best luck in the fall but have caught a couple this summer while jigging when the bass were not biting

i only caught 5 in the tops on this trip and they were around 6' deep caught on a brown/chart tube jig...fall is the best time for top fishing down here as well...keep in mind...the saline is much wider with alot less current and more color down here where it runs into the oauchita
