Great photos!! I like it when folks include a yard stick or other measuring device to give it some scale.
Peckerwood is a good lake, just too far for me anymore.

Went out there again today! Caught many small ones and a bunch of shell cracker bream. Here are the keepers - would've liked to catch more but had a good time on the water:

You should hit the big ones soon with the Rice farmers pumping it down. The lake has some real slabs. We caught some hogs last month there.![]()

Going out there again next Saturday (7/11/09) with some buddy's. They have been watching the posts on this forum and are now interested. Dang it them skeeters, tho!
Maybe someday I'll be like CP and bring home more than just 5 and 6.
I've never been on PW but it's on my list of lakes to fish some day...Have you tried a thermacell on the skeeters? I'm curious because I bought one but haven't really needed to use it on them yet.
The skeeters are bad at the boat launch only. The only skeeters on the water are the ones that follow you from the launch point.
Before sunlight you will litterally lose 5 lbs of blood before getting on the water. At nightfall, another 5lbs!
Not to mention, you will have about 3 dozen of them things in your vehicle when driving home.
Thanks for the tip GABOWMAN. If I get around to Conway I'll definately try thermacell. The last time I went to Conway, I came up on live cypress, tapped the limbs and was ambushed by them boogers! And they followed me everywhere I went, too!
I bet you didn't get any skeeter bites from those skeeters. Bet they were males. I see swarms on cypress trees at Old Town.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.
Interestingly, I didn't get any skeeter bites. They just swarm you and bug the crud outta-ya!
